With its outstanding technical performance and dependable after-sales support, the unit has received unanimous praise from the client.As the first domestically manufactured rail milling train exported overseas and the first of its kind in China capable of switch (turnout) milling, the FGM500A has demonstrated exceptional reliability since its delivery in December 2023. It has now been in stable operation for nearly 21 months, with no major failures reported. In terms of operational quality, the FGM500A rail milling train integrates key innovations such as high-efficiency milling technology and high-precision contour tracking systems. It is capable of accurately correcting rail surface defects including corrugation, squamous wear, and lipping. Post-milling, the rail profile precision can reach ±0.1?mm, and longitudinal smoothness complies with the EN13231 international standard. Its proprietary automatic turnout milling function enables full-process maintenance for both mainline tracks and turnouts, effectively overcoming the technical blind spots that traditional equipment cannot address.

In terms of operational efficiency, the FGM500A rail milling train can achieve a working speed of up to 1 km/h, while maintaining stable performance under extreme conditions such as minimum curve radii of 20 meters and gradients of up to 80‰. Its lightweight design combined with an intelligent control system significantly reduces transit time between work sites, greatly enhancing the utilization rate during the limited nighttime “golden window” maintenance periods.
The after-sales service system has also performed remarkably. TsingInst Railway has established a dedicated support team providing 7×24-hour technical assistance, having responded to over five fault service requests with an average on-site arrival time of less than 24 hours. The equipment’s reliability and service responsiveness have reached world-class standards, effectively ensuring the continuity of rail maintenance operations.
Notably, the successful deployment of the FGM500A rail milling train has broken the long-standing monopoly of European and American companies over rail milling technology. This domestically produced alternative not only reduces procurement costs by 50% but also extends rail service life by over 30% through preventive maintenance. As the warranty period approaches its end, both parties have initiated discussions on subsequent operation and maintenance cooperation, planning to promote the equipment to more lines of the Hong Kong Metro, further strengthening the international competitiveness of “Made in Luoyang” in the rail transit maintenance sector.
